Ann Whitney and Allen Garner, Jr. … Lexington, Fayette County

The Garners of David’s Fork Crossing farm in northern Fayette county have brought a love of the outdoors, particularly trees, into their children’s lives. Allen designed and built a 2-level treehouse, which utilizes 3 different hackberry trees. It has down-lighting that was wired far above in the trees, to give it a soft glow at night.
Ann Whitney, who has established bee hives and keeps chickens for fresh eggs on the farm already, is planning to reforest their 20-acre property with about 4,600 more native tree seedlings in early 2013. The farm is in a historic area close to the site of the early Bryan’s Station fort.
